Joshua Edwards was born in Galveston. He's the author of Architecture for Travelers, The Exhausted Dream, Castles and IslandsImperial Nostalgias, and Campeche, and he translated María Baranda's Ficticia. His photobook, Photographs Taken at One-Hour Intervals During a Walk from Galveston Island to the West Texas Town of Marfa, was published by Edition Solitude. He directs Canarium Books, teaches occasionally at University of Chicago, and in the summer works as a bookseller at Marfa Book Company.
